As the leading character for the first eight seasons, we get to watch Charlie Harper as he manages to seduce any woman he can; he was the complete opposite of his brother, Alan. Charlie does grow close to Chelsea, even getting engaged, but things fall apart. It is marrying Rose that sees Charlie disappear and we are told he has died, but later discover that he has, in fact, been locked in Rose’s basement. However, in the final episode, Charlie is squashed by a falling piano.
