Splitting up can be tough on many people, especially when someone has to pay alimony each month to their ex-wife. This guy could have written a check, handed it over, and forgotten all about it. That would be too easy.
Instead, he decided to have custom checks made. Now, each one featured a different picture of the guy with his new wife. This way, he could send a little reminder every month that he has moved on – even if he does still have to pay the money.
