The biggest star in Game of Thrones has just met his match, as Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson recently wed his tiny Canadian fiance. One of the biggest men in the world, Björnsson earned the nickname of The Mountain during his time on the fantasy TV show, but he could hardly have picked a smaller wife. Björnsson’s new wife measures in at 5 ft 2 in, dwarfed in comparison to the giant’s 6 ft 9 in frame.

Born and raised in Iceland, the Scandinavian strongman wasn’t always the biggest man in the room. He comes from a long line of incredibly tall men, but as he grew into his body he soon realized that sport, and more importantly, competition meant everything to him.
Björnsson would develop a love for basketball at a young age and being incredibly tall meant he was always likely to mix well with the sport. After he suffered a recurring ankle injury, Björnsson would turn to the gym. This drew him towards his very small wife.
