[post_page_title]Her living quarters[/post_page_title]
The construction of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum was finished in 1901, and the designs had allowed for living quarters on the fourth floor. Isabella had always intended to live inside the museum, so that’s exactly what she did.
Across the other three floors, Isabella carefully curated a flowing building of art and culture that would allow visitors to embrace a story. She wanted her visitors to fall in love with the artwork, and she didn’t want to bombard them with information about the artist, the date of origin, or the story behind it.
