When Abath went to check out the police officers, he took in their uniforms and saw their police badges with his own eyes, and he believed their lies. He was convinced that they were who they said they were, so he decided to let them in.
However, as the thieves made their way to his desk and told Abath that he was under arrest, he knew that he had made a mistake. As the thieves began to handcuff him, he could see that they weren’t really police officers and that one of them was wearing a fake mustache.
