As Erica and Jay continued to spend more time together, they both knew that they were perfect for each other. In 2006, Jay decided to take the matter into his own hands and pop the question. He asked Erica’s father for his blessing, he bought the most incredible ring complete with diamonds and emeralds, and he got down on one knee. The pair had taken a trip to Dallas when he asked Erica to marry him, and it’s been noted that he “asked her to spend the rest of her life with me.”
