Since breaking away from her marriage to Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes has made sure that her daughter knows she can be anyone she wants to be. She has tried to instill independence and creativity within Suri Cruise, but it seems as though this has sometimes backfired.
On one occasion, Katie left Suri in the hands of a nanny and told the caregiver that her daughter could paint anything she wanted as a mural on her bedroom wall. Suri did just that and covered her whole room in black paint. Holmes wasn’t too happy about this and ultimately fired the nanny, even though they were just following her rule.
