Of course, Diana couldn’t always show off that rebellious side, even if she wanted to. When she was out and about on royal business, she typically had to behave precisely as her in-laws expected. If she didn’t, then she risked getting into trouble with the other royals.
Not only was it important that she behave properly for the sake of appearance, but she also needed to set the right example for her boys. They were still princes, after all, so they had to be responsible when in public.
