Diana has loved her kids ever since she held them in her arms for the first time. When William arrived in 1982, he introduced his mother to a love that she’d never known before. You can see it here in her smile as she stands outside the Lindo Wing on the day of his birth.
This photo op was a momentous time for the public because it began the tradition of royal parents showing off their newborns. Diana went on to do this again when Harry arrived several years later.
