No matter what age they were, Diana hated being separated from her children. The Princess of Wales was rarely unhappy when the boys were around, so it’s no surprise she always wanted to be near them.
She did her best to take them to every event possible, whether they were meant to be there or not. This is something she did almost from day one, with Diana even breaking protocol on several occasions. That included touring the Commonwealth with William in 1983 when he was only nine months old.
