The boys really were quite lucky with some of the things they got to do. There aren’t many 12-year-olds who can say they got to go around on a jet ski while visiting the French Riviera, are there?
Of course, this wonderful mother-son moment between Harry and Diana is tinged with sadness, given what happened just a few weeks later. This shot was taken in July 1997, not long before the Princess of Wales’ tragic passing in Paris. That’s a day Harry and William will unfortunately never forget.
