Brendan clearly remembered the scene too. At the time he wasn’t sure what was going on and why Leslie kept tearing up. As the gentleman he is he had asked her what was wrong. But of course the young actress was not going to admit being in love with him in the middle of a scene.
But while reminiscing on the Tv-show couch he couldn’t help but be touched by Leslie’s confession. Not admitting flat out the feeling was mutual he simply stated “How could you not be in love with Leslie Mann?”.
