As a director it is your job to tell people what to do, but telling your wife what to do is a whole different story. And directing your wife in a romantic movie adds a whole other complex layer.
In the 2012 romantic comedy This Is 40 Judd both wrote the script and directed the movie- and cast his wife as the lead. Leslie has admitted there are both pros and cons to working with her husband, but emphasized she definitely does not like him telling her what to do.
