Despite the fact that the tiny city of Ada, Oklahoma, has just over 17,000, it has produced several famous figures from the world of sports and culture. Since June 18, 1976, though, it’s known mostly for one thing – being the hometown of Blake Tollison Shelton.
The son of Richard, a used car salesman, and Dorothy, a beauty salon owner, he was raised in Ada along with his older sister Endy and older brother Richie. Tragically, Richie would pass away after being in a car accident at only 24, and his loss would shape young Blake’s life in profound ways.
