Shortly after he lost his job at the Nashville publishing company, Blake got the attention of famed country music songwriter and producer, Bobby Braddock.
They had met through Blake’s songwriting partner, who frequently called Bobby so he could listen to and critique their music over the phone. In 1997, Bobby got Blake a contract with Sony Music. However, it would be a few more years until he would release his first single in Nashville.
