For the decade that Cher lived here, the singer made the house her home. She reportedly spent years redesigning the property, turning it into an Egyptian-themed mansion after being inspired by the biblical TV movie Jesus of Nazareth.
The residence proved to be a useful base of operations for Cher’s career, which saw a resurgence while she lived there, but nothing lasts forever. She decided to pack up in ‘88, although perhaps she should have waited to sell it. After all, Variety says the house is now worth $85 million.
