The man, still refusing to take no for an answer, tried to insist that giving him a work of her art for free would be equivalent to “giving a friend a hand in time of need.” She already had the blank canvases anyway, he claimed, so really – what was the big deal?
Then, he took a stab at adding some comedy to the situation with a ‘joke’ that the woman probably didn’t find so funny, hinting that she may never be inspired to paint something of her own.
