Even though the letter began as kind regards, it quickly took a turn in the second paragraph. Reading on Tony discovered that he had been living not knowing a secret that his wife and ex-girlfriend had been keeping for so many years.
His former partner had written to break the news that she had a five-year-old son – and not just any son. Tony’s son. Tony was in disbelief at what he was reading but managed to compose himself to carry on through the rest of the letter.

The letter continued on to explain how their child often asked where his father could be found, but Tony’s ex-partner didn’t know what to say to him anymore. She begged for Tony to forgive her as well as asking if he would consider coming to visit their child so he could become part of his life.
The letter finished there as she had asked if Tony could just think about everything she had asked of him with the hope he would be in contact with an answer.
