Following her commercial success, Tomei once again sought roles in independent films to step away from the limelight for a while. Following an appearance in 2005 musical drama Marilyn Hotchkiss’ Ballroom Dancing & Charm School, Tomei was cast in a potentially huge movie.
Featuring the likes of John Travolta, Ray Liotta, and Martin Lawrence, there were high hopes for 2007 comedy adventure Wild Hogs. The film was about a bunch of middle-aged guys taking their expensive motorcycles cross country, and it proved a hit at the box office, making $168.2 million.
