It took several years for Tomei to find a role that suited her talents after winning her Oscar Award for My Cousin Vinny. When cast in 1996 romcom Unhook the Stars, Tomei once again showed why comedy roles suit her.
Her performance in the film was praised, and even won a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Tomei might have the talent, but she would end up being typecast into a supporting role for most of her career.
