We already mentioned how Marvel licensed a number of its classic characters to other companies – and one of them was Hulk, who they gave to Universal. When Marvel became more successful, they got into some legal battles with Universal regarding whether they use the Hulk or not.
As it currently stands now, Marvel has the rights to use the Hulk’s character, but not to give him a solo film. Well, that’s a shame, because a solo Hulk film would be awesome.
