Maria Hill is a Marvel character that first appeared in the Avengers film as a confident and capable high profile commander. She works with the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization and eventually becomes the leader of the group’s operations after the death of Nick Fury. Hill is also a recurring character in the Black Widow and Secret Avengers comics. Cobie Smulders has portrayed the character in four Marvel films including Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
