In the older X-Men films, the character of the blue-skinned Mystique was played by Rebecca Romijn. In the recent films, however, the character was portrayed by Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence. Besides having a brightly colored body, Mystique has the ability to shape shift and as such, she is able to constantly rejuvenate her cells and look young even though she is hundreds of years old. Jennifer Lawrence really brought the mutant warrior to life in the film X-Men: First Class.
