In the past, Piers has been bashed by ardent supporters of the Royal Family, and many have criticized him for being too harsh on Meghan in particular. He has regularly posted updates and stories about his belief that Meghan has pushed Prince Harry away from his family, and his tweets published after the statement was released showcase this once again.
When the couple announced that they were distancing themselves, Piers noted that Meghan had “ditched” all those that were once close to her, and “split” her husband from the Royal Family.
