After being offered the chance to live in the apartment next to Kate Middleton and Prince William in Kensington Palace, Meghan supposedly managed to persuade her husband to choose a home further away instead. As one of the many homes that reside under the Royal Family umbrella, Frogmore Cottage needed to be refurbished before they could move in.
Around $3 million of the taxpayers’ money was used to renovate their home, and many critics are angry that they are choosing this time to now become financially independent. In fact, some have even suggested that the couple give the money back if this is to be the case.
