[post_page_title]The case for the prosecution[/post_page_title]
So far, there have been two separate instances in which Meghan was said to have slipped into a British accent. The first one came in June, 2018, during the duchess’ first official engagement without her husband, Prince Harry. She traveled to Cheshire along with her grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth. As can be expected, her adoring fans turned up in droves.
“The sun was shining for us,” she told one fan in what sounded suspiciously like a British accent. Then, in January, 2019, she did it again. Visiting Birkenhead with her husband this time, she told a young girl, “What a nice sign! Did you make that for us? Thank you!” in a decidedly British lilt.
