For a few years now, movies have been stored and shown digitally. However, prior to this change movies came on reels of film – and anyone who worked in a theater when this was the case can tell you how much of a nuisance the heavy and unwieldy reels were.
Reddit user movieaccountthingguy speaks of a particularly harrowing experience in which they dropped the print for 2001 adventure film ‘The Mummy Returns’ – which necessitated them manually cutting the print up and putting it back together. We’re glad those days are gone.
