Hancock was cool in that it was a superhero film on its own, independent of the MCU or DC Comics or anything like that. However, while it was nice to see our own brand new superhero, played by Will Smith, the other side of that coin meant a whole new world of backstories concerning not just him, but a plethora of new characters.
One of these characters is played by Charlize Theron, and let’s just say their whole relationship background (which apparently goes back to ancient times) took the film to a strange place we certainly weren’t expecting.
