Nicolas Cage plays an astrophysicist who apparently is the only one who can stop a global catastrophe from taking place. When his son discovers a time capsule which seemingly reflects on the occurrence of tragic historical events, including ones that have yet to happen, he must act now to save the entire planet from being destroyed.
If only that’s all the film was about… things start to get really weird later on when he learns that aliens are abducting children around the world, and soon Cage is actually the last man standing on the earth.
