If they would’ve gotten rid of the second half of this movie, it would’ve done just fine. In fact, it probably would’ve been better. The first half of Funny People was about just that – funny people.
Once it crosses the second half point, it gets less funny as it starts to focus – a lot – on Adam Sandler’s character’s infatuation with his ex-girlfriend, who also happens to be married. It’s a twist that the movie spends an hour too long on, and not a comfortable one at that, especially since what they’re doing is immoral.
