You’ve heard of Murphy beds, and you may have heard of Trundle beds, but have you ever heard of the “mother-in-law bed?” Much like the other types, mother-in-law beds go by another name – “drop down beds.” These too are designed to save space, but instead of being stored in the wall or under the main bed, these go straight up into the ceiling. While these contraptions each sound brilliant, they have been largely discontinued because of the risk of injury they bring into the home.
