A Hoosier cabinet is like a baker’s rack and a desk all in one! You may have noticed a trend toward “space saving” with many of these home features. In older homes the rooms tended to be a bit smaller than what we see today. In the kitchen, a Hoosier cabinet was used for storage space, but also provided an additional flat surface that provided additional counter space for preparing foods. Hoosier cabinets are far less popular today, but you may be able to find an antique at your local thrift shop!
