The last logged journey made by the Sam Ratulangi was recorded in 2009 as it was sailing nearby Tainan City in Taiwan.
The cargo ship was built in Indonesia and sailed the seas around Asia on a regular basis before it one day vanished into thin air, never to be heard from until August 2018. The authorities were fairly skeptical about the circumstances and kept a close eye on the ship to see if anybody was going to come along and try and explain why it washed up in Myanmar.
