Though the German confectionery company Haribo gets credit for the invention of gummy bears, Americans brought this chewy creation to Baltimore in 1981, the same year Germany introduced the world to the gummy worm. Today, there are so many different shapes of gummies (frogs, rings, sharks, fish, etc.) that it’s hard to say which is the best. They even started adding vitamins to gummies to encourage healthy kids. We’ll always remember the classic little bears, though, that represent our childhood.
