White was born in Conway, South Carolina, but moved to Myrtle Beach after her parents got a divorce when she was just a baby. She took the last name of her stepfather who raised her with her mother. She took up acting in school and also was a member of the cheerleading team. After she graduated from high school she made the move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. White was chosen to become the hostess of Wheel of Fortune after auditioning with 200 other women.
