Locklear was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her mother was a production executive and her father was an administrator at UCLA. During her time at Newbury Park High School she auditioned for the cheerleading squad but didn’t make the team. As a result she decided to join the drama club and discovered her passion for acting. After graduation she began a brief career in modeling and started to work in commercials.
