Whether you’re completely engrossed in watching a movie in the theater, or watching an episode of your favorite TV show in pajamas, you can be sure of one thing – thousands of work hours were put in to create what you’re seeing Everyone from the actors to the director, producers, sound crew, lighting people, and special effects team pitched in to create that end result. Most of the time, anyway. Sometimes, things just happen.
It’s true, just because making a movie or a show is usually more like a military operation than it is a freeform art doesn’t mean that everything that happens on-camera has gone through seven layers of vetting. Sometimes, just sometimes, actors are given free rein to ad-lib, and that’s when the real magic happens. Don’t think improvisation is the sole property of comedies, either. Even the most tender of scenes, ones that involve kissing, sometime get a little unexpected flavor.
[post_page_title]Mark Hamill says goodbye in The Last Jedi[/post_page_title]
The Last Jedi, the second installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy released in 2017, sharply divided fans. Whatever their feelings, however, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill, told his sister Leia, played by Carrie Fisher, that, “No one’s ever really gone.” That final goodbye was made that much more poignant considering Fisher tragically passed away before the film’s release, and it was dedicated to her memory.
After Hamill delivers that line, he leans in and kisses Leia’s forehead. That was a spur of the moment decision on his part, and he still can’t bring himself to watch that scene. “She’ll be forever missed,” he said of his beloved late co-star.
