The person who paid for the Riddles’ meal was… Kayla herself! In fact, in the four years she’s worked for the café, she had anonymously picked up many customers’ tabs – from military personnel to police officers and firefighters.
Why did she do it this time? It was her “duty to help them through the day.” She didn’t think they needed it, and it wasn’t because she felt bad. She just wanted to let them know there were strangers who were willing to help them through this tough time.
