The Riddles came back to the West Side, and did some digging. They spoke to the owner there, Tracey Sanford, who let them know that Kayla was studying to become a teacher.
In fact, many of the other servers working at the cafe were students as well, and were “struggling to work, raise a family, and attend college on the side,” as Sanford put it. The first seed of an idea was planted in the Riddles’ minds then, but it wouldn’t sprout and blossom quite yet.
