Heading off into a spaceship and touching down on the moon is something that most people only dream of, but that dream becomes a reality for the select few astronauts who get the chance to do just that.
Gene Cernan is known as the last man to set foot on the moon, and during the Apollo 17 mission, he decided to do something to put a smile on his daughter’s face. Yes, he wrote his daughter’s initials on the surface of the moon, and they’ll stay there for around 50,000 years.
