Istanbul probably isn’t a city you think of often, but before you go to sleep tonight, give a little round of applause for this little place.
That’s because the city of Istanbul has installed vending machines in and around the city that offer free food and water for the stray cats and dogs that find themselves without a home. While the vending machines are free, payment is taken in the form of plastic water bottles, which humans can recycle and help the animals at the same time.
