There have been quite a few older royal mothers over the years. Late Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester gave birth twice after the age of 40. What makes this even more impressive is that these births were back in 1941 and 1944- a time very different from today.
Back then medicine and maternal care was much less advanced than it is today. The fact that Princess Alice could still carry two healthy pregnancies to term could be an inspiration for Kate or other Royal Family members considering having more children.
