As soon as Lt. Short removed the baby from the car, he could tell that something was not quite right. The baby did not respond to his touch, did not open its eyes, and didn’t seem to be breathing. With first aid training behind him, Lt. Short soon went into autopilot mode and was checking the baby’s vitals for any sign of life. After basic checks, the police officer discovered that the baby had indeed stopped breathing, so he used all of his skills in CPR to try and revive the child.
