In Samantha’s case, she got unusually lucky thanks to something so random as her work uniform. If the surgery is deemed successful, she will also have to undergo up to five weeks of daily radiotherapy treatment. This is to prevent the cancer from returning, but it’s not an easy process.

The treatment comes with several side effects, such as extreme fatigue, nausea and even fever. But Samantha still thanks her lucky star for her early diagnosis, and for having a large community of family and friends supporting her.
