Looking back, Samantha does recall the pain being more than an ache, because once in a while she would also experience a shooting pain. But since the uncomfortable feeling disappeared as soon as she took off her vest, it isn’t so surprising she made the conclusion it was to blame.
It was mostly an annoyance, and as she felt perfectly healthy and experienced no pain as soon as the body armor was off – going to the doctor never crossed her mind.
