Sadly, the Duggars lost their second child after Michelle suffered a miscarriage. It was the first of two, with the latter happening in 2011, and the couple blamed their use of birth control.
The experience of losing a child put them off of contraception forever, which meant that the risk of pregnancy dramatically increased every time they were intimate. Although miscarriages can happen for all sorts of reasons, the pair were sure it was because of birth control, and this decision changed things forever.
