Smith’s role as Meghan came shortly after Parisa Fitz-Henley also portrayed the Duchess in a Lifetime movie. She was cast to play the royal following her engagement to Harry, not that she was that familiar with her.
Parisa knew very little about Meghan and her involvement with the Royal Family, so research was essential while preparing for the role. She used the couple’s engagement interview from November 2017 as her primary source, and she learned everything she could about the way the Duchess behaved. Evidently, it paid off.
