Not only was Doug Flutie responsible for bringing more fans to football games at Boston College, but he was also the reason more people applied to study there.
The more victories the quarterback led his college team to the more applications they were receiving, something that became known as the ‘Flutie Effect.’ Flutie was considered to be too short for the NFL, but managed to play for several teams in the league including the Chicago Bears, and New England Patriots.
