If a performer is at the height of their career, their record labels and tour managers will fork out for an expensive hotel or rider that provides them with a roof over their heads when the night comes to an end. Yet, that isn’t always the case. When Ed Sheeran was first starting out as a musician and touring the UK, he didn’t have the money to do such a thing. Instead, he was simply sleeping wherever he could find a willing volunteer to give up their couch. If he couldn’t, he would sleep on the subway.
