Being in a coma must be a strange experience, because, although your body is unresponsive, the brain is often capable of absorbing and taking in information.

Richard’s family used this to their advantage during his ordeal, and The Daily Mail revealed that they played him commentary from matches from the FIFA World Cup, in a bid to entertain him and try to keep his brain functional. He also talked about how he recognized the doctors voices while he was in a coma as well.
